GoDaddy Auctions: a 72-hour observation playbook
April 11, 2026 · Sub Editor at Den
GoDaddy Auctions reward observers. Before you proxy bid, spend seventy-two hours watching how bids arrive on three unrelated .com lots.
Hour 0 to 24
Add ten names to watchlist. Note start price, bid count, and whether bids look automated (round increments) or manual. Open Investor app Radar alerts for closeout-eligible names.
Hour 24 to 48
Run NameBio comps on five watchlist names. Kill three. For survivors, write max bid and stick to it. Check trademark conflicts on USPTO for exact matches.
Hour 48 to 72
Watch final-hour sniping pattern. Many lots jump in last ten minutes. Decide if you proxy early (discourage snipers) or bid late (hide interest). Closeouts differ: Buy Now can vanish anytime; do not treat like timed auction.
After win
Log acquisition, set lander or outbound within seven days. Names that sit six months without marketing rarely magically appreciate. For DropCatch and Saw.com lanes, see our multi-platform auction guide.
